| The Convalescent Relief Fund
A Donor Gift to the Convalescent Relief Fund, or
CRF, represent a one-time contribution that is pooled with all other
contributions, within a Supreme Daughters of the Nile fiscal year,
to be distributed to Shriners Hospitals for Children. CRF is what
we refer to as the NOW fund, as it provides money for a specific
fiscal year, but has very little ability for principal growth.
It is important to recognize that CRF is vital to
the whole philanthropic picture of Daughters of the Nile and that
anyone wishing to have her gift used NOW, should make it payable
to the Convalescent Relief Fund.
May 1st begins the Supreme fiscal year, at which
time the net interest/income from the Convalescent Endowment Fund
is transferred to the Convalescent Relief Fund, thus beginning the
year with a sizable balance. This provides members with an incentive
to enhance CRF with their personal donations, organization fund-raising
donations and a response to the Convalescent Relief Fund Chairmans
Christmas letter.
